Sharing with Wong Tak Choi --- A realist but may be an economist: "If it's cool and fool, it's probably Web 2.0"

A recent article published by the well-known magazine "Economist" made an allusion to the term "Web 2.0".

In fact, the term "Web 2.0" was an allusion to the software upgrades by Mr Dougherty. He was applying it to what he hoped would be a second generation of the internet.

Now some people have begun to use "Web 2.0" to promote their images vigorously and in fact it resembles the“old wine packaged in new bottles”. They were well camouflaged with the skin of the so-called "Web 2.0".

In fact, nothing is new“under the sun”. Someone uses the "Web 1.0, Web 2.0, Web 4.0 and so on…" marketing terms in order to pretend they are IT literate. Of course, in marketing terms, it has been a great success.

We recognize those well-known and authentic "Web 2.0" models - such as the Wikipedia, Google, Flickr, MySpace, YouTube, Blogger etc. will not use the term "Web 2.0" to bolster their own prestige. The reason is that they have already achieved real "Web 2.0" properties. Web 2.0 is a term representing the spirits of “synergy”, sharing and folksonomy etc. and it merely represents the second wave of websites.

“Creative Commons” (the creation of “Public goods”) are created through “synergy” which forms the important basis of the sustainable development of various disciplines of modern knowledge.

In terms of economic interpretation, public goods are thus created. Our resources will be used efficiently through“semantic web” sharing and “folksonomies”. Also through the“synergy” work, some good ideas can be promoted. Total entire“utility”or economic welfare may thus be enhanced enormously through our continuous effort.

Mao Zedong once said : "Who is the Greatest Man in the eras? It is me standing here today!" And who is the Time's (Greatest) Person of the Year? Look at the mirror. It is You!

Let us work harder together to create more shared resources. It is particularly essential in the open-minded era and democratic-oriented society. By the way, thanks to Mr. K.K. Huang for granting me credits.
