At what price as our govt. upholds the policy of using 'mother-tongue' as medium of instruction in HK education?

Since different schools have their own features and missions, it is unrealistic to set a uniform practice for all.

The secondary schools may have the right to choose freely whether to use the Chinese or English as their media of instruction. It is also unjustifiable just to blame the English teachers for the continued decline in English standard.

The upholding mother-tongue language policy by government should be compromised with the fact that Hong Kong is being a cosmopolitan city.

From the point of view of central officals of the Chinese Government, Hong Kong's status as a Special Administrative Region (a factual cosmopolitan city) is strategic to our country as a whole and living style here remains unchanged for 50 years from 1997.

The use of English as a medium of instruction does not necessarily imply the absence of patriotism among us. English should only be regarded as an international language nowadays and should do nothing to patriotism.
